International Women’s Day 2025: #AcceleratingAction with Women Who Lead
Celebrated globally on 8 March every year, International Women’s Day (IWD) serves as a powerful reminder of the progress made towards gender equality while acknowledging the work still to be done. It is a day to recognise the achievements of women, raise awareness about gender biases, and take action for a more inclusive world.
This year’s theme, #AccelerateAction, calls on individuals and organisations to drive meaningful change that’s relevant for EVERYONE across our global community – regardless of gender, role, or background, and take concrete steps towards equality. The focus is on speeding up progress, ensuring that pledges for equality turn into real-world impact.
Women Who Lead at MGI Worldwide
At MGI Worldwide, our commitment to supporting and empowering women is embodied in the Women Who Lead group. Started as a way to highlight our exceptional talent and support the next generation of women in accounting, the group has grown into a positive space for open discussion on topics such as wellbeing, confidence, leadership, and self-development.
CEO Maxine Brock, the first woman to hold this position at MGI Worldwide, has been a driving force behind this initiative. She recently shared her thoughts on the importance of Women Who Lead and its impact within our network.
What does the Women Who Lead group mean to you?
“Women Who Lead has been close to my heart since it started, and watching it grow has been a real privilege. It’s a space where members of MGI can openly share, support, and inspire one another. The conversations – both personal and professional – are meaningful, and in a world that’s changing so fast, it gives us the chance to pause and reflect, helping us learn from each other in a really positive way.”
Why is it important?
“For me, this group is about connection. It’s a space where I’ve gained so much from hearing the many different views and perspectives from members around the world and learning through sharing. Being part of a group where we genuinely support and encourage each other is incredibly rewarding for many reasons.”
Why should others get involved?
“I encourage everyone to take a moment to join in – just listening to the conversations can be inspiring. The real value comes from being part of the discussion because that’s where the best insights happen. No matter where you are in your career, we all have something to learn and something to share.”
