Highlights from the MGI UK & Ireland Region Conference in Bristol

Held on 27-29 November, the MGI UK & Ireland Region welcomed close to 90 delegates to its annual conference in Bristol - home to Milsted Langdon, one of our largest UK & Ireland member firms.

A special mention should be given to those who attended from outside the region travelling from Europe, Brazil and India. Thank you for joining us!

Firm culture and looking to the future

The conference was opened with a historical and witty introduction to Bristol and the West Country by John Chamberlain from Visit West, before diving into our conference theme of ‘Culture and what good looks like for the firm of the future’. Some fantastic keynote speakers talked about psychological safety, diversity and inclusion, ageism and mental health.

Members were challenged to think about their own firm’s culture as both the ICAEW and Best Companies shared insights into research carried out, and our own members had an opportunity to share their own experiences. Delegates also welcomed the South West Regional Cyber Crime Unit (SWRCCU) who talked through the real life challenges organisations face and best practices to be adopted.

And rounded off the conference with a visit to the Christmas Market and dinner in the beautiful city of Bath.
