Meet Matthew Shaw – MGI’s Technical Ambassador

To strengthen our engagement with the Forum of Firms, Matthew Shaw has been appointed as MGI Worldwide’s Technical Ambassador. In this role, he will represent MGI firms, provide updates on key global developments, and ensure our members' voices are heard at the FoF.

Matthew has over 30 years of experience in the profession and holds the following professional qualifications: FCA, FIPA, and FFA. He provides technical, training, and compliance services to a range of accountancy practices, from sole practitioners to mid-sized firms, including many MGI members.

His experience includes:

  • Partner at an audit practice specializing in charities and construction companies, giving him first-hand insight into the challenges accountants face.
  • Former Technical Director at a leading training consortium, where he delivered expert guidance on auditing, financial reporting, and compliance.
  • Lecturer on key topics including pensions, charities, SRA assignments, UK GAAP (FRS 102 & FRS 105), anti-money laundering, auditing, and company law.
