We’ve joked in the past about planting an MGI Forest but this year we are a step closer to making this a reality!
Included in your delegate fee is a tree, just for you! These trees will be planted by the MGI Central Team at a regenerative organic mixed farm called Mindrum located in North Northumberland (borders of England and Scotland). The trees will be placed in the Five Trees Wood Meadow, a field on the edge of an ancient moss (marshland) adjacent to the remains of a Roman camp.
But this is more than just planting trees. This is a small part of a larger long-term strategy of focussed agricultural environmental schemes that support the whole blend between agriculture and the environment. They are creating a patchwork of woodland, hedges, and wetlands, which not only increases the diversity of the pasture but also the health of the livestock, the wildlife, and the whole ecosystem.
After the conference you will receive a Certificate to acknowledge your contribution to the project.
Also, if you wish to purchase additional trees there is an option to do so during the registration process. The tree along with the protective guard (which will be reused in the future for the next planting) is €30 each.
