Our Italian hosts are helping make this year’s event truly special. Here, they share what their favourite aspects of Rome. Don’t miss the opportunity to connect with them during the conference – they’re looking forward to meeting you!
What about Rome! It is my favourite city in Italy! I can always touch and feel my historic and spiritual roots, as many of you already know. Every street corner tells a story spanning over 2,000 years during which the power, the wars, the religion, the pilgrims, the kings and the Popes have left their footprint. And of course, the people have an iconic approach to life known all over the world as “Dolce Vita”! When you sit down and taste the food in Roma you experience a Mediterranean atmosphere full of different tastes and flavours.

First of all, I was born in Rome and I’ve always been a fan of the Roma football team. To me, the most beautiful thing about Rome isn’t just its monuments, which I’ve grown accustomed to living among. It’s the people, and way of life …. only those born in Rome manage to live in a city like Rome, and they usually do it with a smile and a dose of irony. Roma fans have the same mentality … the Roma team never wins anything, but the support of the Curva Sud is the best in the world... Forza maggica! as they say in Roman dialect.”

Rome is simply timeless. Its glorious monuments, picturesque gardens, and vibrant streets speak for themselves, a testament to the everlasting beauty and grandeur of its history, alongside the warmth and vibrant energy of its present.

Anyone who has been to Rome has the memory of something unforgettable, experienced in a place that is impossible to describe with words and which can only be understood by walking through its streets, admiring its buildings and monuments and breathing in its atmosphere. My memory is an evening at the end of September at the top of San Pietro’s "Cupolone" Saint Peter's Dome | Turismo Roma, the setting of the sun, the burning sky, the warm air of late summer and a breathtaking view over the roofs of the city and on the “colli” of the "Città Eterna.

Immersing yourself in the alleys of Rome makes an ordinary sunny day an unforgettable experience! At every step you can discover something wonderful, a glimpse, a store, a church, a house, a tavern and then suddenly pop up in one of the beautiful squares such as Piazza Navona, with the beautiful Fountain of the Four Rivers, or at the Trevi Fountain. I recommend Rome in the evening, its restaurants and trattorias of Trastevere to return in a moment to what was the dolce vita. Rome if you visit it you can't help but love it!

The beating heart of Rome and the striking contrast with which Castel Sant'Angelo rises on the banks of Tevere, the majestic castle that protects the ancient secrets of the city and its centuries of history. Yet, it is not merely a static monument but a symbol of beauty that inspires and enchants those fortunate to watch a sunset over the city from its walls in a warm afternoon.

Over 3,000 years of history can be found throughout the streets in Rome and this makes even a short walk an extraordinary experience. And let’s talk about the food….eating cacio e pepe pasta (with pecorino cheese and black pepper) in a typical trattoria is scientifically proven to lift the spirits and make you feel better J In the evening, take a leisurely walk through the Trastevere district and simply enjoy the moment and have fun!

It’s hard to find appropriate words that do justice to this city. No adjective ever seems sufficient to describe its beauty and charm. The Eternal City for millennia has enchanted its visitors. Whether it’s your first visit or you’ve already been here many times, Rome never fails to provide new, unique and irreplaceable emotions. It’s a journey through the centuries, the most vivid testimony of the different historical and artistic periods that have passed through it.
